At STAR Sober Living, our name reflects the four guiding values we live by: Sober. Truthful. Accountable. Respectful. These values form the foundation of a safe, healthy, and empowering environment for recovery. Every resident, team member, and supporter of this home is expected to embody them.
S – Be Sober
"I choose to stay clean and sober, fully responsible for my recovery."
Sobriety is the bedrock of life in this home. We are committed to remaining free from all drugs and alcohol. Each resident takes ownership of their personal recovery journey and actively supports others in theirs. We do not tolerate possession, use, or intoxication under any circumstances.
🕊️ “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” —1 Peter 5:8
T – Be Truthful
"I speak with honesty and live with integrity in all I do."
Trust builds community. Truthfulness means we speak honestly, own our mistakes, and remain transparent in our actions. We commit to open communication with each other and with house leadership to protect the unity and safety of the home.
💬 “Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” —Ephesians 4:15
A – Be Accountable
"I own my actions, honor leadership, and fulfill my responsibilities."
We believe freedom grows through responsibility. Residents are accountable for fulfilling house expectations—chores, curfews, meetings, and rent—as well as treating leadership and boundaries with respect. When correction is needed, we respond with humility and a willingness to grow.
🔗 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” —James 5:16a
R – Be Respectful
"I treat others with kindness, dignity, and consideration."
We are more than individuals—we’re a community. Respect means honoring each person’s journey, privacy, and property. It also means maintaining peaceful shared spaces, following quiet hours, and refraining from any form of verbal, physical, or emotional harm. Respect is non-negotiable in this home.
❤️ “Honor one another above yourselves.” —Romans 12:10b
These values are more than rules — they are a way of life that brings healing, hope, and stability. We welcome those who are ready to live with purpose, honesty, and dignity.
